War, Soil, and Freshwater Systems. Conference Prague, 15–17 October 2026
Poster Presentation Guidelines
1. General ConceptThe conference is focused on addressing real-world challenges and fostering collaboration with funding organizations and project stakeholders.Particular emphasis is placed on:• the practical relevance of the research • the potential for further project development • the clear and accessible presentation of results Authors should consider that each case of war-related contamination of soils and freshwater systems may involve a substantial body of highly specialized information. The poster should present this complexity in a clear and structured manner. The third day of the conference is dedicated to discussions of future projects. Authors are strongly encouraged to design their posters with the potential to evolve into full-scale scientific or applied projects.Poster presentations may:• serve as a foundation for new projects • facilitate the establishment of professional networks • extend beyond a single case study and contribute to broader international research initiatives Both collective and individual submissions are welcome.Individual posters may be specifically aimed at identifying partners for the implementation of research in the field of war-related environmental contamination. It is important to note that while there is strong demand for high-quality research ideas, there is a notable shortage of expert-driven solutions and innovative methodologies within the “war – soil – freshwater systems” domain.
2. Role of the PosterA poster is not a full research paper, but rather:• a concise and visual representation of the study • an entry point to a broader body of work • a tool for attracting attention and initiating dialogue The poster should:• be easily readable from a distance • contain only essential information • provide access to the full version via a QR code Additionally, the poster must be intuitive and easy to understand when viewed on a screen, as the digital format will serve as the primary medium for interaction and networking.
3. Required StructureThe following block must be placed in the upper-left corner of the poster:P&D Conference 2026 / 15–17 October, Praguehttps://pdconference.orghttp://doi.org/10.66659/pd.conf.2026...1(The individual DOI will be assigned after acceptance of the submission and confirmation of payment.)The assignment of a DOI ensures that the poster is recognized as a formal academic publication. Each poster must follow the structure:Problem → Theory → Method → Results → Key Takeaways
4. Format and DesignMandatory requirements:• Format: A0 (841 × 1189 mm) • Orientation: Portrait • Background: White • Design: Minimalist Recommendations:• limit the amount of text • prioritize visual elements (charts, diagrams, graphics) • ensure readability from a distance • maintain intuitive clarity when viewed digitally
5. QR Code (Mandatory)Each poster must include a QR code linking to:• the full version of the poster • the DOI page • additional materials This is essential because:• the poster format is inherently limited in space • extended content must be accessible online
6. Online and Offline FormatsAlthough printed posters will be presented on-site:• the primary format is digital • many participants will attend online • representatives of funding bodies will primarily engage with digital materials Conclusion:the electronic version of the poster is the primary and most important format.
7. Topics and FlexibilityPoster topics may vary significantly. Therefore:• no unified design template is required • diverse approaches to presentation and visualization are acceptable However:• the core structure and mandatory requirements must be strictly followed
8. KeywordsAuthors are required to provide relevant keywords. This is important because:• a large number of posters is expected • filtering and categorization systems will be used The visibility of your poster will depend significantly on the quality of selected keywords.
9. Access to MaterialsAll poster presentations will be:• published on the conference website • accessible online to participants and funding organizations
ConclusionAn effective poster is:• visually clean • logically structured • concise and easy to understand • oriented toward practical application • a potential foundation for a new scientific or applied project • open to international collaboration and expert engagement • connected to a full version through a QR code.
