Journalists, editors, documentary teams, science communicators, and media representatives may request media accreditation for the Pollution and Diseases Conference 2026.
Media accreditation is handled separately from participant registration.
Accredited media representatives are not considered scientific participants unless they also register separately as participants and are accepted in the relevant conference role.
Free media accreditation
Media accreditation is free of charge.
There is no registration fee for approved journalists and media representatives attending the conference in a media capacity.
However, media accreditation is not automatic. All media accreditation requests are reviewed and approved by the organizers.
Free media accreditation does not provide the same rights, access level, or status as scientific participant registration.
Who may apply
Media accreditation may be requested by:
- journalists;- editors;- press correspondents;- documentary teams;- science communicators;- media producers;- photographers and video journalists;- representatives of verified media outlets;- communication officers covering the conference for institutional media channels.
The organizers may request confirmation of media affiliation, editorial assignment, previous publications, or the intended purpose of coverage.
Media role and scientific participation
Media representatives are separate from scientific participants.
Media accreditation does not include:
- submission of an abstract;- presentation of a scientific contribution;- inclusion in the scientific programme as an author or presenter;- publication of conference materials;- DOI assignment;- author status;- participation in peer review or scientific selection;- automatic access to participant-only materials;- automatic access to closed working sessions.
A journalist, editor, or science communicator who wishes to participate as a scientific author, presenter, poster presenter, or registered attendee must follow the regular participant registration process.
What media accreditation may include
Approved media accreditation may include access to:
- selected conference sessions;- public or media-accessible scientific presentations;- press briefings, where organized;- interviews arranged with speakers, organizers, or participants;- official press materials;- public conference information;- selected online materials approved for media use;- the conference venue, subject to available space and accreditation conditions.
The exact access level will be confirmed individually by the organizers.
On-site and online media access
Media accreditation may be granted for on-site or online participation.
On-site media access is subject to venue capacity, security, organizational requirements, and the structure of the conference programme.
Media representatives are not counted as scientific presenters or registered scientific participants. However, on-site media attendance is still subject to space limitations and must be approved in advance.
Online media access may be provided where appropriate and may be limited to selected sessions, recordings, briefings, or public materials.
Access limitations
Some parts of the conference may be closed to media representatives.
This may include:
- closed scientific discussions;- working meetings;- unpublished research discussions;- sessions involving sensitive data;- participant-only discussions;- internal organizational meetings;- restricted recordings;- draft materials;- materials shared only with registered scientific participants.
The organizers reserve the right to define which sessions and materials are open to media representatives.
Photography, filming, recording, and livestreaming
Photography, filming, audio recording, video recording, and livestreaming are not automatically permitted.
Media representatives must receive permission from the organizers before recording, photographing, filming, livestreaming, or publishing images from the conference.
Where individual speakers, participants, or interviewees are involved, their consent may also be required.
Some sessions may be marked as:
- open to media;- open to media without recording;- closed to media;- off the record;- embargoed;- available for quotation only with speaker permission.
Media representatives must respect all session-specific instructions.
Interviews and quotations
Interview requests should be submitted to the organizers in advance where possible.
Direct quotation of speakers, participants, or discussion comments may require permission, especially in closed or semi-closed sessions.
Comments made in working discussions, informal conversations, closed sessions, or participant-only spaces should not be quoted without explicit consent.
The organizers may help coordinate interviews with speakers, experts, authors, institutional representatives, and members of the Scientific Committee.
Embargoes and sensitive information
Some information presented at the conference may be preliminary, unpublished, sensitive, or subject to embargo.
Media representatives must respect embargo instructions, attribution rules, and access restrictions communicated by the organizers or speakers.
Materials marked as draft, internal, participant-only, restricted, confidential, or embargoed may not be published without written permission.
Use of conference materials
Media representatives may use official press materials, public conference information, and approved quotations in their coverage.
Use of slides, figures, tables, posters, recordings, unpublished data, presentation files, or participant-only materials requires permission from the organizers and, where applicable, from the authors.
The conference name should be cited as:

How to request media accreditation
To request media accreditation, please contact the organizers and provide the following information:
- full name;- media outlet or organization;- role or position;- country;- email address;- phone number, where applicable;- website or media profile;- intended format of coverage;- preferred participation mode: on-site or online;- requested dates of attendance;- interview requests, if any;- photography, filming, or recording requests, if any;- brief description of the planned coverage.
The organizers may request additional information before confirming accreditation.
Accreditation confirmation
Media accreditation is confirmed only after approval by the organizers.
Approved media representatives will receive confirmation of their access level, participation format, media conditions, and any restrictions that apply.
The organizers reserve the right to refuse, limit, suspend, or withdraw media accreditation if the accreditation conditions are not respected.
