e-Posters

Peer-Reviewed Poster Presentations as Scientific Contributions
e-Poster presentations are an essential part of the conference program. They are not an auxiliary or secondary format. They are peer-reviewed scholarly contributions designed to present focused research, emerging evidence, methodological approaches, applied case studies, and project-oriented scientific ideas.
The e-Poster format is especially important for a conference devoted to war-related pollution, soil degradation, freshwater systems, exposure pathways, ecosystem impacts, and disease-related consequences. These fields often involve complex, incomplete, rapidly developing, or geographically dispersed evidence. A poster can present such material in a clear, structured, and visually accessible form while connecting it to a broader body of research.
Academic Status
All submitted poster abstracts undergo scientific review by the conference committee. Only contributions that meet the academic and thematic standards of the conference are accepted.
Accepted e-Poster presentations are published as part of the official online conference proceedings. Each accepted contribution is assigned a Digital Object Identifier, DOI, through Crossref and published on a dedicated permanent page on the conference website.
Each poster page includes:
titleauthors and affiliationsabstractkeywordspublication detailsDOI and recommended citation format
Accepted e-Posters are therefore permanently accessible, fully citable, and suitable for academic referencing.
Why e-Posters Matter
The poster format allows authors to communicate essential findings with clarity and precision. It is particularly suitable for work that may not yet be developed into a full paper but already represents valuable scientific or applied insight.
e-Posters may present:
ongoing researchpreliminary findingsfield observationsapplied case studiesmethodological protocolsinterdisciplinary approachesproject conceptscomparative environmental evidenceresearch needs in war-affected regions
In this conference, the e-Poster is also understood as a research interface. It can introduce a scientific problem, demonstrate the relevance of a case, identify methodological gaps, attract expert feedback, and serve as a starting point for future collaboration.
Connection with Project Development
The third day of the conference is dedicated to scientific and applied project discussions. e-Poster presentations are directly connected to this part of the program.
Authors are encouraged to design their posters not only as a summary of completed work, but also as a potential foundation for further research, international cooperation, joint publications, methodological development, or project implementation.
This is particularly relevant for studies addressing war-related contamination of soils and freshwater systems, where there is a strong demand for scientifically grounded, expert-driven, and practically applicable solutions.
Review Criteria
Poster submissions are evaluated according to the following criteria:
scientific relevancemethodological soundnessclarity of presentationalignment with the conference themepotential contribution to research or applied practice
The conference maintains a selective review process. Submission does not guarantee acceptance.
Poster Structure
Each accepted poster should present the research in a clear and logical structure:
Problem → Theory → Method → Results → Key Takeaways
The poster should be concise, visually clean, and easy to understand both on-site and online. Authors should avoid excessive text and prioritize clear diagrams, figures, tables, maps, conceptual schemes, or other visual elements.
A poster is not a full research paper. It is a focused scientific communication format and an entry point to a broader body of work.
Digital Format
Although printed posters may be presented on-site, the electronic version is the primary format for interaction, visibility, and long-term access.
Many participants will engage with the conference online, and representatives of research initiatives, expert communities, and funding organizations will primarily access poster materials digitally. For this reason, each poster must be readable and intuitive when viewed on a screen.
Each poster must include a QR code linking to the full version, DOI page, or additional materials.

Long-Term Availability
Each accepted e-poster receives a DOI landing page with citation metadata.

The DOI landing page may remain publicly available after the event. Full poster files and additional materials may be public or restricted to registered participants, depending on author consent and conference access policy.

An effective e-Poster is concise, structured, visually clear, scientifically relevant, connected to a broader research question, and open to future collaboration.
